Trains 2013 a Success!

Trains 2013 is now history and was a great success by all accounts. Thanks to all who participated in the Trains 2013 show and meet, especially the volunteers who put in so many hours to make the show a success.

Please don't hesitate to share your opinion, whether you came or not, by using the online survey form, or by sending an email to the committee.

Layout Tours now expected back earlier

If anyone was hesitating to go on the escorted Layout Tours due to the late expected arrival back to Cameron, you might want to reconsider. After all of the details have been worked out, the expected time back to Cameron is now only 10:30 PM, due to the layouts being in the Coquitlam area and hence closer to the centre. There are still lots of seats available, so you can either use the online registration form or buy your ticket in person at Cameron.

Volunteers Needed!

Each year Trains depends on many people to make it happen. The committee members cannot possibly do everything, and we rely on a great group of volunteers each year to make the show a success. If you would like to help make the show a success, please offer a couple of hours of your time at the show to help out. A simple web form is available to make it easy to send in your offer. Please view the full Volunteers page (click "Read more") to see the various jobs needing to be filled.

E-mail Newsletter Started

We have started a simple e-mail based Newsletter to help keep everyone informed of changes as we count down the final few weeks before the show. Everyone that has registered and given an e-mail address will be added to the list automatically, however you can also just sign up on the web site using the simple form at the bottom of the main page. We promise that your e-mail addresses will not be used for any other purpose than to keep you informed about the Trains 2013 Show and Meet.

Timber Trestle Participation Clinic Added

One addition that was not available earlier for those who have already registered is a hands on participation clinic prepared and presented by John Green.

Participants in this clinic will purchase and construct a model of a small CPR timber trestle from a prestained wood kit in HO Scale. It is planned to have 15 kits available on a first come and pay basis.

Public Show display registrations now closed

Space on the display floor has been filling up fast with great layouts, exhibitors and vendors, and is now full. As such we are not accepting any more registrations for these on the display floor.
If you would like to be added to a waiting list, please send a note to the Show Registrar

Past Show Videos

These are some links to videos that others have posted on YouTube about past Trains Shows. We would like to thank the people who have shot and posted these videos for all to see. Hopefully, these will give you a good idea of what the Public Show is all about.

Please note that these are links to videos that have been posted on YouTube by people who are not a part of the Trains committee, and as such the Trains Committee is not responsible for the content of these videos.

Online registration form now available

A new registration feature has been added this year to enable online registration for the two day Trains member's Meet. The process uses the PayPal Shopping Cart that many are familiar with, however it does not require that you have a PayPal account set up. You can simply add your registration to the PayPal shopping cart and then when you check out, you can enter your name, address, etc. plus your credit card information without needing to create a PayPal account.

Layout, Exhibitor, and Vendor Lists Updated

The lists for display Layouts, Exhibitors, and Vendors have been updated with those confirmed to date. More are expected in all categories.

New web site for Trains 2013 Meet and Show

This is the new web site for the annual Trains Model Railroad Meet and Show to be held November 9-11, 2013 in Burnaby, B.C.

All of the information from the old web site has now been transferred over, but a few of the pages still need to be "tidied up" a bit

Links should all work, so if you find one that doesn't please let me know at webmaster@sbcrailway.ca.
